Carausius, Romano-British Emperor, 286-293. Denarius (Silver, 18 mm, 2.55 g, 6 h), Londinium (?), circa 287-288. [IMP CA]RAVSIVS P F AVG Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Carausius to right. Rev. [AD]VENTVS AVG Carausius on horseback to left, raising his right hand in salute and holding scepter in his left. Cohen 7. RIC 707. Shiel p. 118, 1. Webb 797. Rare and nicely toned. Part of the flan cut off in antiquity and with minor scratches, otherwise, very fine.
